    Description

    Western Australian - The Restore Car Magazine, Vol. 39, NO.2 1994, JULY/AUG
    15 YEARS AGO
On the cover was Lee Wintrode's '29 Phaeton as it re ceived Best of Show honors during the driveby at the '79 Northern California Round-Up. Down South, the National Headquarters was moved to a permanent address when the Club bought its own building. Two guys from Poco Quatros, Bill Klench and his son Angelo, were hatching their "Arctic to Antarctic" plan. A 12,000 mile jaunt in a '29 Truck/RV. There was Part 2 of the Houdaille story. This was the meat and potatoes part of the shocking news. Geo-Chris Sprotte even went so far as to barbecue the shocks. That part made me wonder if he's from Texas. I also wondered if he filled 'em with honey/ mustard or Mesquite flavored shock fluid. Legends are born of less stuff than this folks and we didn't even consider the cole slaw.
