    Description

    This wonderful tray was made in 1945 by a woodworker family friend in Brooklyn NY. It was a wedding gift for my parents. Mom kept it in the china cabinet and used it on special occasions The bottom is dated, signed and initialed by the maker.
    IT IS STILL IN LOVELY CONDITION. THE WOOD HAS A BEAUTIFUL PATINA. The exterior (minus the handles) measures 12” square. We are not wood experts but we believe the bottom to be oak and the sides to be black walnut. The handles are brass and black walnut. The bottom has a few very light faint scratches despite protective corners rests which have some wear (see photos).
    The inside center is black lacquered with some light scratches and dulling in areas. The serving area measures 10” square. A new coat of lacquer could be applied to brighten up the surface.
    The tray is very solid and sturdy.
