Vtg 40s Desktop Taylor Baroguide Barometer Art Deco Catalin Brown & Butterscotch

Description

This desktop barometer is on a tiered butterscotch base and cased in a dark brown body marbled with orange or red.  I’m trying to understand the difference between Bakelite and catalin, and I believe this is catalin, (I know bakelite just learned of catalin when looking this barometer up)
It looks in pretty good condition with just a few things to note.
Found no cracks in the body.  The lens is a bit smaller than the bezel and moves but stays put when displayed, I decided it’s suppose to be that way as the ‘fixed’ pointer looks attached to the lens so to position it you move the entire thing, or at least this one works that way.  There is one crack, maybe 1/4” long, extending out from knob, and a little rough spot on the lower front edge of the base.  The lens has like a slice off it, I don't think its visible when it’s sitting upright, it's below the bezel, at least while the pointer is pointing in an upper area.  It is almost opposite the pointer.  I’ve taken a picture with it laying down, pulling the lens towards the top.  It looks a clean slice, almost intentional but assuming it broke there.
The lens is yellowed, assuming from age.

Movement is untested and sold as non-working.
I dusted it a bit but didn’t do any other cleaning.
Overall 3-3/4 tall, base is a tad over 4-3/4” wide and 1-1/8” deep
