Description
This unmarked stoneware vase is heavy and stands 8.5" tall. It has a pleasing shape that goes well with any furnishing. I'm not sure of the maker. I've been told Brush and Bauer made vases like this and Red Wing had a line of ringed stoneware art pottery vases as well. So, if you collect any of those, this vase will look great with its buddies. The shiny yellow glazed finish and ribbed design of this vase is superb. Take a look at the many photos showing each side. The vase is in near excellent condition and does not have any visible cracks, chips, repairs, but there is a lot of crazing; it could be over 100 years old. It has a 3/4" horizontal hairline mold mark near the top interior of the opening and another 1/2" hairline that extends from that and over the top exterior edge (see super close up photos), a 1/16" flea bite chip at the very bottom at the base, some glazed over pinholes, and there are a few rough spots around the dry edge and mold marks at the very bottom of the vase. It's stoneware and a lot of these are as-mades, so this should be expected. You won't see any of these tiny defects once the vase is displayed and they are being mentioned for accuracy only. Please rely on all the photos which are part of the description and feel free to email us if you have any questions (or know the maker). This is a exceptional quality piece that's just waiting to be added to your collection. The ringed design goes well with any furnishings like mission, arts and crafts, MCM... anything. You are sure to love it. Bid and buy with confidence! This item will be well-packaged to assure a safe delivery.
