US 1995 Comic Strip Classics 20 Postal Cards Never Opened Original PackagingOne of the most brightly colorful sets of postal cards ever issued by the USPS is the set of 20 colorful cards, issued on October 1, 1995, that honored the nation's greatest early comic strips, all of which were created before 1950. Some were artifacts of their time and place, but Li'l Abner, Popeye, and others contributed words and phrases to the English language. Blondie (begun in 1931) spawned a series of movies and two weekly TV series, while Little Orphan Annie and Li'l Abner were turned into popular Broadway musicals. Several of these historic strips (Blondie, Gasoline Alley, and Barney Google, among others) are still running in the nation's newspapers today!
These 20 cards all have individualized descriptive text on the back of each card too. You can still use these cards by adding postage to the 20 cents on each one.
This package has never been opened and is in its original sealed packaging from the USPS.
