Description

This prototype custom jacket from CAT'S PYJAMAS was made for the producer of the classic movie THE BLUES BROTHERS, Robert K. Weiss.  While a large adult size, it was much too small for the producer, who is described on the very first page of the book WIRED (Bob Woodward's account of Belushi's last days) as a 'bear of a man.'  Ultimately, the movie would go so far over budget that the crew would settle for a lesser jacket, made by another company.  Only a few jackets were made by this company for the movie and only for the very senior members of the production.  The original color of this jacket wasn't even purple but these old satin jackets often fade or change color over the years.  The color on this jacket is very even.  Never worn, only stored for decades, it's in very nice shape with a few light spots that might come out with a dry cleaning. Fantastic original BLUES BROTHERS embroidery on back.  One of a kind.
