We are happy to be offering one of the Mexican Military Tan Uniforms that was worn in the outstanding ORIGINAL movie
'THE ALAMO'
from 1960. It is a 2 piece Uniform that consists of the jacket and pants. The tan uniform jacket has a straight cut hem with just a slight V at center front and back. The coat is in excellent condition for its age - The pants are done in a darker tan with faded red stripes down the sides and on seam side pockets with a drawstring waist. Both the pants and jacket have labels from Western Costume Costumes.
'THE ALAMO' (1960) starred JOHN WAYNE, RICHARD WIDMARK, LAURENCE HARVEY, CHILL WILLS, DENVER PYLE, FRANKIE AVALON, PATRICK WAYNE, LINDA CRISTAL, JOAN O'BRIEN, KEN CURTIS and many others. This movie was John Wayne's first as a director. Synopsis from IMDb: In 1836 General Santa Anna and the Mexican army is sweeping across Texas. To be able to stop him, General Sam Huston needs time to get his main force into shape. To buy that time he orders Colonel William Travis to defend a small mission on the Mexicans' route at all costs. Travis' small troop is swelled by groups accompanying Jim Bowie and Davy Crockett, but as the situation becomes ever more desperate Travis makes it clear there will be no shame if they leave while they can. This movie has all of the basics with love, hate, drama, morality, political rhetoric-all rolled into one without explicit sex and bloody violence. Considering this outfit is over 50 years old, it is in excellent condition - however, the hems have been let out on the pants.
