    Scrimshaw Faux Resin "Ship Sachem 1856-59" Carved Whaler Walrus Tooth Tusk 13"
    Whalers would scrimshaw to pass the time while out on the water and the originals are really hard to come by. Most pieces are in museums or large private collections. This replica is made of resin and depicts whaling ships hunting whales with a volcano and port in the background. The opposite side shows flowers, birds and the name "Ship Sachem" in a banner along with the date "1856-59" at the bottom.Measurements: 13" Tall 2 1/4" Length 1 1/2". Sone discoloration on top and bottom. See pictures.
