Description
Here we have a stunning and one of several Bennington Pottery candle sticks I am listing, each is being sold individually. This candle stick is decorated with an attractive flint enamel glaze.
There is an interesting twist in the clay, making the center of this candle stick look like a barber’s pole.
I see other lines in the clay from when the clay was processed, so I don’t think this was intentional on the potter’s part.
Measuring 7 ¾” in height this stick is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs.
These candle sticks were made from 1849 to 1858 and are photographed and described in Richard Carter Barret’s definitive book “Bennington Pottery and Porcelain”.
Bennington Pottery candle sticks are highly collectable and rarely come on the market.
