Th Museum is pleased to present material from the Geoffry Drake Collection. Geoffrey was an Oscar / BAFTA nominated Production Designer, Art Director and Visual Efx Artist on classic hits like Jason and the Argonauts, Sinbad and Eye of the Tiger, Bridge on the River Kwai, Guns of Navarrone and more. Geoffrey’s collection also contains material from George Drake, his father, who was an artist and visual efx man for Disney in the 1930’s. The Drakes operated a boutique prop, wardrobe and efx manufacturing operation. Other maker's film materials were also found in storage with their collection. Each piece from this archive comes with a COA from the Museum of Mom and Pop Culture to ensure the Drake family provenance.
*This lot is for a striking helmet for Ancient or Period productions - It is a vintage and original Movie Wardrobe / Prop - Can not attest to screen use, but this baby looks like she's seen plenty of action - The period of the vintage material found in the Drake collection ranges from 1950's to 1970's -
*SIZE: Appx. 9" tall x 8" long x 6.5" wide ~ Small head size ~
*MATERIALS: Hand-Made - Helmet body is a hard-cast material with seam / so cast in 2 pieces - Felt Lining - Crown ornament is wood - There are some small holes along top of wood crown ornament where horse hair may have been attached - There is also a small hole on one end that may have had an ornament attached - Helmet is similar to a Napoleonic helmet found in the collection
- So, this may be a Napoleonic piece that has been stripped down for another film- or elements used on another piece - Currently, it has both an unfinished look and a hard, clean-lined look - could be any kind of Ancient adventure helmet or even old science-fiction, since a wardrobe piece like this often found its way into a variety of films. It's a very cool helmet any way you look at it.
*OVERALL CONDITION: Very Good or Better - One side of helmet at bottom has been bent inward from long-term storage - An engaging display item - You won't be disappointed!

We use USPS, therefore International shipping usually takes at least 10-14 days for your item to be delivered.
If more than this time has passed, check at your local post office in person - often these days packages are held for pickup and consumers are not notified - or your shipment may be held up in customs.
Insurance is required on international purchases to ensure your item gets to you safely.
