Description
LOUIS HAYWARD MOVIE COSTUME IN THE 1940 FILM THE SON OF MONTE CRISTO FROM THE FAMOUS WESTERN COSTUME COMPANY IN HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA. WESTERN COSTUME HAS BEEN MAKING MOVIE COSTUMES FOR THE FILM INDUSTRY FOR OVER 100 YEARS. THIS COSTUME IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH A COUPLE OF SMALL REPAIRS AND THE ORIGINALBUTTONS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT NOT BAD FOR A COSTUME THAT IS 80 YEARS OLD. THE COSTUME HAS STAMPS AND THE ORIGINAL CLOTH LABEL FROM WESTERN COSTUME COMPANY WITH THE NAME L. HAYWARD WRITTEN IN FOUNTAIN PEN. ALSO WRITTEN ON A LATER LABEL THAT WAS ADDED ON TOP OF THE ORIGINAL WITH THE NAME McCREADY WAS PROBABLY WORN BY GEORGE McCREADY IN ANOTHER PRODUCTION. THERE IS ALSO THE NME SINGHAUS WRITTEN ON THE BOTTOM. THESE COSTUMES ARE ANYWHERE FROM 20 TO 80+ YEARS OLD AND COME DIRECT FROM WESTERN COSTUME'S WARDROBE DEPARTMENT AND HAVE BEEN USED IN ANY NUMBER OF FILMS. I TRY TO DESCRIBE THE CONDITION AS WELL AS POSSIBLE BUT SOME OF THESE COSTUMES MAY HAVE SOME SMALL DEFECT HERE AND THERE WHICH I TRY TO PHOTOGRAPH.
