    Description

    Pictured is a beautifully decorated blue & white spongeware pitcher available for sale.  The early thrown
    ovoid pitcher is divided into three segments, base/rim/midsection by four (4) thin cobalt blue slip bands.
    The pitcher has great color, color contrast & eye-appeal.  It measures 8 1/2" in height & dates from 1860 -
    1885.  It's in superb condition with no nicks, damage or repairs whatsoever.  One perhaps can assemble
    four (4) different sizes of early ovoid spongeware water/milk pitchers in this shape & form.
