Description
Maker: This rare and superb trio of plate, cup and saucer is from Germany’s master porcelain maker Hutschenreuther, which has been producing exquisite china since 1814.
On each piece is the green CM backstamp of the Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther factory of Hohenberg, Germany, one of the two Hutschenreuther factories that produced excellent porcelain wares in Germany. In 1969 it merged with the Lorenz Hutschenreuther factory of Selb, Germany, to form Hutschenreuther A.G., which is still in business today as part of the Rosenthal Group.
Age
: The mark on this trio was in use from 1948 to 1970.
Design
: The pattern, on fine, thin porcelain, features an elegant raised gold and pink design against a deep cobalt blue background. Gorgeous gold garlands and cartouches of pink roses encircle a pure white center.
The pattern number 01402 is handwritten in red on the base of all 3 pieces.
Condition
: The set is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, repairs or wear.
Size
: The saucer is 6 inches wide. The cup is 4 3/8 inches wide and 2 3/8 inches tall. The plate is 7 5/8 inches wide. Together they weigh 1 pound 2 ounces.
