Polyurethane finish for durability. Thanks for looking at one of CHM's loading blocks. Loading blocks are an extremely useful tool when handloading. While not a must have for a progressive press, they are still very useful. With a single stage or turret press, loading blocks are almost a “must have” accessory. CHM blocks are custom made from red oak, a medium hard, tough wood. Red oak also takes finish well, and is quite handsome. Primary finish is polyurethane, to resist case lubes and other solvents that are around your loading bench. I do not recommend using these blocks to apply a spray case lubricant, use a container instead, and let the lube dry. Then place the cases in the block. I do not list every variant of block available, many are done on a one time custom basis. Many blocks do of course, fit different calibers of the same case head size. A .308 block, for example, fits everything based on that size case head, from .22/250 to .400 Whelen. Contact me, and I can custom mark the caliber you want on any block you buy, at no extra cost.
