This is a FABULOUS Helmet worn in the movie
"FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE" (1940)
starring
BUSTER CRABBE, CHARLES MIDDLETON
and
FRANK SHANNON
. The helmet is a dulled silver as you can see in the pictures.  This astonishing relic served as the headwear for one of Prince Barin's soldiers and can be seen in the sixth chapter of the serial, when Barin's fleet is mistakenly in pursuit of Flash's ship, thinking it to belong to the evil Ming's forces. The importance of the Flash Gordon serials to the history of film in general and science fiction in particular cannot be overestimated. They influenced everything from Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark to Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. A piece of this importance, one that virtually embodies the sci-fi genre of the Golden Age, is not likely to be encountered again. One of these helmets sold 9 years ago for over 00.00
It was also worn in the epic
"THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD" (1938)
which starred
ERROL FLYNN, OLIVIA DE HAVILLAND, BASIL RATHBONE
and many, many others.  It was seen again in
"DAVID AND BATHSHEBA" (1951)
with
GREGORY PECK, SUSAN HAYWARD, RAYMOND MASSEY
and again, many many others!
