    MERCURY
    in dark blue underglaze print on front of jug.....black  dipped slope shoulder....4 3/4"tall....Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage.  Mercury was widely used in the 1800s as a medical treatement for syphilis and venereal disease. Mercury was also used in mining to separate gold & silver from the ore...
