    Description

Rare and very interesting vintage Pirate Sword Prop from Disney Studios.
    Measures Approx 30” long.
Sword is well made, blade is made of metal and is studio painted to appear to have a steel blade. The tip of the sword has been removed by production. The blade is hollow and a spring and some mechanics can still be heard rattling around inside the blade. This sword likely had a retractable tip at some point, but was likely removed for use in the Dead Man’s Cove scene on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
The grip and hilt are made of metal and have been studio painted to look like they’re made of leather and brass. The hilt once had a covering on it and still retains the screws that once held on a more decorative covering for the hilt, but the decorative hilt covering was likely repurposed when this sword was removed from production.
A truly unique and one of a kind of a kind item that comes directly from the Disney Studios archive.
Sword has been studio distressed for production to appear aged.
Overall very good condition. (See pics)
Comes with copy of Certificate of Authenticity.
    Displays very well.
This sword was likely used in Disney theme park attractions including Pirate of the Caribbean and Skull Rock Cove.
The wardrobes and props on the animatronic figures on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride are changed out frequently and this attraction recently underwent some refurbishments. Disney Studios released some of the used props for sale and this is one of the nicest vintage swords from the Disney Studios archive that I have seen.
Items like this rarely come up for sale and are very hard to find.
