    Description

Blue White Stoneware Soap Dish Rose Lid Bristol Salt Glaze Midwest early 1900's
This auction is for the lid only. If you need the lid to complete your soap dish this is for you!
Solo or orphan soap dish lids are few and far between. Not certain of design name or manufacturing company but I’m inclined to consider Monmouth/Western Stoneware, Monmouth, Illinois. The diameter of this lid is right at 5-1/2 inches. The top is detailed with an embossed design, a pink under-glaze rose decal, a modified strap handle, and a decorative blue border towards the edge of the lid
There are some shallow rim flakes and at some point in the past someone has attempted to touch them up with blue paint. A quarter inch or so shallow piece chipped out of the rim and it was reattached, a really good job viewed from the top.
No returns unless condition is egregiously understated.
Shipping is to the 48 contiguous sates, no overseas shipping.
If damaged in transit it is buyer’s responsibility to contact the carrier.
