VINTAGE-1930's CLARICE CLIFF "TULIPS" -HARD TO FIND -10-1/2" PLATE (S)
This listing is for beautiful & hard to find Clarice Cliff "Tulips" pattern. Included in this listing is 1 (one) 10-1/2" plate. The talented Clarice Cliff designed these pieces during her time with
A. J. Wilkinson/Newport Royal Staffordshire Pottery.
This art deco design "Tulip" pattern is of Biarritz shape, Bizarre range.
Condition of these hand painted pieces is very good. The shape of the Biarritz design made firing of the pieces difficult and often caused warping, that being stated, there maybe some warping to the plates. There is also some loss of paint on all pieces, most noted to the accent bands of the pieces. There is very little loss, if any, to the actual "Tulip" design. There is some crazing.
Overall, they are in beautiful condition. Each piece is marked "The Biarritz, Royal Staffordshire, Great Britain" with a register number of 784849 (date 1933/1934).
The plates also marked "Bizarre by Clarice Cliff".
There is 1 plates available. This plate does have a chip to a corner on the underside - see last picture.
