    Description

    This is a Rare and beautiful antique 1 Gallon Stoneware Advertising Jug, from DETROIT, MICH. The advertising on the front reads, FINN and LASKY Whole, ALE LIQUOR DEALERS 1539 - 1541 MICH, AVE. AND 226 GRATIOT AVE. DETROIT, MICH. It is in excellent condition, expertly hand thrown, salt glazed, with a Gray Beige color on the bottom and a Albany Brown on the top. The lettering and border are in Cobalt Blue (bright, clear, and sharp), it has the original cork stopper on top, the spout and applied handle are perfect. There are 2 very small chips, and a burn mark that I think came out of the klin that way?. It is in (mint condition for it's age) with no repairs or no damage and has a nice gloss finish. This rare piece was made between 1890 / 1900, has a beautiful old aged patina on it, and the measurements are 10 1/2" tall x  7" wide and weighs about 6 Lbs.
