A
very beautiful
little souvenir from olden-day VERMONT. The picture of the falls is very pretty, with riverfront homes behind and showing the shrubs and trees around the falls.
Back in the day these little souvenir china items were often won at small-town fairs, or sold in small businesses at tourist attractions like this. Note that the backside has "
MADE IN ENGLAND / L. PEASE & SON. / HARTFORD. VT
.", this would of been the company that had this old plate custom made to advertise their business. If you looked into an old Polk City Directory from the Hartford, VT. area from the early 1900's, you could find out who L. Pease was, what the business was, and, in the process, date this plate and help document its place in history. A nice memento of a place from the past,
check it out!
