ANTIQUE? FAUX? WHALE'S TOOTH SCRIMSHAWED "THE CULTIVATOR" MARITIME FISHING

Up for your bidding consideration is this (seemingly) legitimate
(maybe faux)
scrimshawed whale's tooth named "The Cultivator". .. I am not, nor claim to be, and expert on scrimshawed items, but purchased this item and part of a box lot at an estate sale many years ago, and forgot I had it. .. So I now bring it to you, the eBay public. .. From to looks of it, it appears to be genuine or someone did a bang-up job replicating it. .. The carving is very refined and highly detailed, which gives the impression that it an antique. .. The actual cuts in the tooth appear to be made with a sharp object when viewed under a magnifying glass, but again I am no expert. .. It measures about 6" in length and 2 1/2" in diameter. .. The tip of the tooth appears to have genuine stress cracks, as a real tooth would.
