    #27  XR-750                   SER# *RA88902932*        2001
This 2001 XR-750 engine was purchased by Tim Cozhiar of Cozhiar Harley-Davidson. It was built by XR-750 master engine builder Mike Wheeler and raced by #20 Johnny Murphree. Johnny won the Hagerstown Half-mile national with this engine.
Cozhiar sold the engine to Dave Kiesow of Kiesow Harley-Davidson. Bought a C&J Racing frame for the engine and it was assembled as a back-up bike for Murphree to use at non-national races.
Kiesow hired #23 Jeff Carver as a rider and Jeff’s best finish on this motorcycle was a 3rd at the world famous Springfield mile.
The motorcycle was then sold to Dan Daffner and Mike Lombardi of Lombardi’s Harley-Davidson on Staten Island New York.  The engine was given to legendary XR-750 engine builder Carl Patrick. As Carl would regularly do he took a good thing and made it better.
This XR-750 motorcycle was put in to the Harley-Davidson of Staten Island fleet and raced against the FT-750 Indians by #27 Rob Pearson.  Qualifying 2nd fastest at Williams Grove and at Perris California.  Rob road this motorcycle to 5th at Williams Grove. This is one of the last XR-750’s to qualify for a national event.  After the 2017 season the engine was freshened up with new valve springs, exhaust valves and pistons. The motorcycle is fresh off the track and sits as it was last raced, it is not a flawless museum piece. It is a prime example of the Winningest dirt track motorcycle ever built, the Harley-Davidson XR-750.
This is a running, race ready, motorcycle. One could tech inspect this motorcycle and race it tomorrow.
Included are the leathers raced and worn by Rob Pearson.
