19C. Old Paris Empire Shape Cup & Saucer HP Scenic Paw Feet Excellent

Description

Here is a charming, Old Paris porcelain cup and saucer - of Empire shape - both pieces hand painted with continuous rural scenes of buildings along a river, trees and purple mountains; and both pieces with running, gilt laurel leaves and berries - the cup raised on 3 animal paw feet, below a footrim of gilt beading - the scrolling handle with gilt anthemion at lower terminal and molded flowerhead at upper terminal. Artist signed: M. Garmien on cup. Diameter of saucer is 5 3/4"; height of cup to rim is 3 1/4". Condition is excellent - no chips, cracks, 'nicks', stains distracting scratches or repairs; gilt looks great. Wonderful!
