Description

This is a 2 owner 1972 XLH Electric Start Sportster. My life long friend bought the machine in August of 1988 from an elderly owner in Jackson MI. This machine was sold originally at Cookies Harley Davidson of Ypsilanti MI.
My friend passed away on Christmas Day 2023 and the only family he had were his nieces and nephew. They were not motorcyclists.
I took possession of the bike and had to bring it back to life as it sat with fuel in it for 30 years. After cleaning the tank and petcock rebuild of the original Bendix carb and a new battery it fired up. It still has the original Goodyear tires.
As far as could tell the only non original items are the plug wires, plugs, and the original foam air cleaner element disintegrated.
I am located on a main road to accommodate pick up via truck or trailer
There are some chips in the paint on the gas tank top a small scratch on top left. There is a very small dent on rear fender and some paint imperfections on front fender LOOK AT THE PICTURES
