    Description

I purchased the original bike in October of 2016 from a gentleman in Columbus. The bike was a virtually untouched XLH-1000 with only 13,000 original miles. The owner had switched out the seat and tried to fashion some modified setup on the back to imitate a hardtail setup, but other than that, the bike was an original 1972. The primary and cam cases were immaculate. No welds or cracks, and after a quick test ride, I took it home, and Dad and I got started on the build. The intent was to convert it to a hardtail with a springer front-end. To give myself a little room for error, I purchased a second frame (same year and model) to be my practice. However, that frame ended up going the way I'd planned, and ended up being the one currently in use on the bike. But we didn't stop at the frame or the springer. We upgraded the brakes, the battery box, the oil tank, the oil filter, lines, generator, regulator, starter, carb, gas tank, sissy bar, forward controls, and on and on. You name it, we either bought it, or fabricated it to work. We went through the engine and cleaned all the internals. We put new gaskets on everything and played with the clutch to ease up on the gorilla grip required to ride. All in all, the only original pieces on the motorcycle are the engine and the frame base. Because of the frame and engine vins not matching, we had it titled under a builder's title, which was a long drawn-out and arduous process. It's still considered a 1972 Harley-Davidson. It's just a custom build. Everything's checked over and signed off by both the BMV, police and the state, and is all on the up and up and good to go. I can provide receipts for all the parts and before and after pics if necessary. I'm only selling it because we have more builds in mind. This was the first of many, and I'd rather it be out on the road, than sitting in my garage. It's still a 72' at heart, but it's a loud, torquey, fun little bike. It's a head-turner for sure. And don't worry, all those drivers with their phone in their hands know you're coming regardless of their attention spans. This is the perfect ride for cruising around town or taking to a show or two, but it's not a show bike. It's white, but it's meant to be ridden. So, get out there. It's just starting to get warm. :)No trades or Paypal or anything screwy. And no, I don't need help selling. Cash only. Thanks for looking!
