In 1938, the factory description for their new line up stated that a new "high" in beauty has been attained in the appearance on the 1938 models and with the new "Hollywood Green" livery and their "streamline" design that came in on the 1936 Knucklehead, these new OHV models were an instant hit! In 1938, Harley's overall production for all of their motorcycles only hit 8158 total units with a total count of 2289 going to the EL's. Now if you fast forward 83 years, the survival rate on 1938 EL's to still exist probably wouldn't hit a hundred and finding one in such pristine condition, is very rare indeed. The fine example that we are so fortunate to have here is a product of Landy Brakke's many years of restoring and sourcing all of the correct parts that went missing and also reversing all of the "road hard and put away wet" decades in the hands of previous owners. I am sure that they never could have imagined that one day, their Harley was going to be one of the most coveted motorcycles to exist! With only 4 miles showing on the odometer, this motorcycle is as fresh as can be and is ready for new home, be it in a prestigious museum or cruzing down the road on a hot summer day.
